Through The Keyhole

Discover what spec, gadgets and local amenities customers really want. What size and design are they looking for in their entertaining space and what kind of security measures do they require?

Wealth and influence mean successful business people can escape to a spatial palace far from the madding crowd. This month Insider will take a look through the keyhole of some of the most exciting and exclusive executive homes that the Midlands has to offer. The first half of a two-part feature on high-end living, we’ll discover what spec, gadgets and local amenities demanding customers really want. What size and design are they looking for in their entertaining space and what kind of security measures do they require? The second part, scheduled for November’s edition, will focus on the prime locations of exclusive homes.

By James Hartley, director of North Sands Developments

Since the inception of North Sands Developments, we have strived to create highly desirable homes across the Midlands that really stand out and our properties have gained us an enviable reputation for high-end quality and architectural brilliance.

As a house builder, we pride ourselves in offering luxury living no matter the size or price of a house, which is always what the discerning customer wants.

Some of our recent schemes include our Grange Road development in Edwalton, Nottingham. The six-bedroom detached homes are lavished with top of the range features– such as Miele ovens, Porcelanosa tiling, invisible storage, wine fridges, American style-fridge freezers, Duravit sanitaryware, solid oak doors throughout, spotlights and glass balustrades on all stairs.

Buyers also demand large open-plan living areas, ideal for accommodating large families and entertaining guests.

Location always has been and always will be the most important part of a property search. Of course, the price of a home varies depending on the location, and for families the driving factor is being in the catchment area for schools of their choice, as well as being close to local amenities such as restaurants, shops and parks.

The location of the development enjoys access to the amenities of West Bridgford, the River Trent, Trent Bridge cricket ground, Nottingham city centre, the A52 and the M1.

The properties, now sold, attracted a number of high-profile viewings from well-known sporting stars and successful business people. Both were looking for a peaceful and private location that’s well connected to transport routes and Nottingham city centre.

The people looking at our homes are hot on security too, that is why we installed video entry gate systems and high spec alarms for many of our developments. The Grange Road homes also feature high fencing around the properties to optimise privacy, which is important to our buyers.

In summary, it is human nature to buy a home at the top of a budget and that budget has to cover the most in-demand elements. We accommodate this in our homes. The modern buyer is savvy and very clear on what they want from an executive home.
